weddings

Your wedding day. A day you have been dreaming of since you were in pigtails. A day when you will see your father cry for the first time. A day that marks the beginning of a new  life. A day that will never  happen again.

How will you choose to remember it?

Parker J’s wedding images have been described as fine art, photo journalistic fashion, and avant-garde. However they describe them, one thing is certain; they have soul. His images are not only seen by your eyes, but felt in your heart.

roots and branches...

I am a photographer and a human being. I started my journey into the art of photography at the age of six when my grandma BB gave me my first camera. Eight years later Eastman Kodak honored me with a silver medallion for second place at the 1982 World's Fair. While other kids dreamed of being firefighters and cowboys, I dreamed of being a National Geographic photographer. My friends all wanted a Mustang with a V8, while I wanted a Deardorff V8 (I already had a mustang V8). I have had a camera in my hands ever since photographing anything that interests or moves me.

Over the past few years I have been named one of the "Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the World" by American Photo, I was on the cover of NikonWorld magazine, I was on the BBC's Style Network, my work was on Keeping up with the Kardashians, Entertainment Tonight and The Food Network, but the biggest award of the year was fishing with my son, Scout.

For the last 30 years I have held may "jobs", I was even that firefighter the other kids dreamed of being, but the one thing that has held true is my love to share my gift of photography. Photography feeds my soul. That dream of the National Geographic photographer still drives me. The camera fits comfortably in my hands and through it I can share the way I see the world in which we all live.

I am a photographer.
